#01 - action, unintentional video

[Ashley awoke to the chill of an autumn breeze moving across her body. Being half-asleep and without her surroundings yet registering in her mind, she assumed that she had simply forgotten to close her bedroom window the previous night, and made to roll out of her bed with the intent to close it and simply climb back in to go back to sleep

Anh... hm... hello? [She sees you but... doesn't hear you say anything, so she thinks maybe she should try and grab your attention.]

[Ashley immediately stops and looks around; she heard someone just now, but is having a time of trying to figure out what direction that voice came from, not realizing that it came from that book she's holding right now.]

Who's there?

[Oh boy... This is the second person this week not to know her voice is coming from the book...]

It's, hm... from the book... [How to explain something not even Peach understands very well?]

[She glances back down, and notices that the page she had stopped on has a fully-colored image-a moving image, at that-and that it appears to be the source of the sound she just heard.]

Well. Now I've seen everything.

Well, I know this looks kind of... out there. But this is the way people communicate from long distances around here, as strange as it might sound.

[Peach herself has a hard time believing a book can do that, and her world is full of wacky things!]

I've seen my fair share of strange things- [Not to mention caused her fair share as well!] -so it won't be too hard to get used to, at least.

So, who exactly am I talking to, here? [Because you look just vaguely familiar, but she just can't quite recall the name, assuming she had ever heard it in the first place.]

[Peach is relieved to hear that. At least, if she needs to tell this girl more things, it won't sound like she's making up stuff.

Ah, sorry for not introducing myself properly. My name's Peach. [She tries to sound as sympathetic as she can. And, yep. Dropping the whole 'princess thing' because she doesn't want any special treatment from anyone.]

[Well, that explains that vague tinge of familiarity, but she won't say anything on that subject for now. As for returning that introduction, she'll keep it short and to the point:] Ashley.
