So after dinner tonight, the topic of space shuttle launches came up, when I mentioned something else about a trip I'd taken to see one. This prompted some discussion of possibly seeing another one, which prompted some refresher googleing tonight ( Read more... )

So get yerself a passport now! You've got 6 weeks, should be enough time...

I had been meaning to make that point myself, you've more than enough time judging from the passport Canada site. 2 weeks for processing if you drop off the form in person.

As for Seb, I really have to talk to him and see if he may be able to go to this one. I know we've talked before about the idea and he's quite interested in getting to a launch.

If you want I could probably send you some info about costs from my previous trip, or maybe I'll make a post about it.

Most of my immediate family have gotten new passports in the last few years, and all were processed and delivered fairly promptly, which leads me to have some faith in the figures they quote, yes. Also, launch is 6 weeks or more away, they say it'll take more like 3, so it could take almost twice as long and you'd still have it in time ( ... )
