Title: Four Hundred Years
Rating: light R maybe
Pairing/Characters: Will/Elizabeth
Fandom: PotC
Words: 2,863
Summary:This fic takes that whole "forever" thing very seriously. *SPOILERS!* AWE (make it hard to summarize. ;p not that I'm good at that anyway.
A/N: The sad thing is that part where I don't have many folk with which to share my joy. (
SPOILER NOTES )
As for Jack... I really don't know he never entered Will's mind during this moment in time. I'd say with only one day he puts all his focus on her. Since he didn't think about Jack I didn't either.
I think if Jack has passed on, it was quite awhile ago, and he has drifted to a very distant but fond memory. I think sometimes, especially when Elizabeth is in the world and he knows it, he focuses very intently on her. I think that when she is not he sometimes forgets completely his old life for long stretches of time. :( That's really sad, but that's what my heart is telling me for this particular fic. I know that when he does think of Jack he laughs.
I just can't reconcile Jack, darn Will for not telling me anything about Jack! Instead he tells me about farther into the future where humans have all passed beyond life and he is left forever with no one to ferry captaining an empty ship on a dead sea waiting for the day he can walk upon dead land for a day. "Forever is a bloody long time," he says.
And that is so sad, I don't want to write that story!
