To those in the know

We may have a problem.

I went to my mother's today, and I met, well, the biggest of her surprises.

She's adopted a demon. I have a demon brother. So no, I didn't faint last time I was there, I just wasn't paying enough attention to realise I was being drained. He was very quick about it. I'm pretty sure he's been feeding off my mother, as well ( Read more... )

That is indeed most worrisome, especially with him already using his powers to feed off souls. I truly hope it doesn't become an addiction at this early stage. It's probably best that all this is explained to him, as well as your mother, as soon as possible.

I wonder what he thinks of it all...

A prepubescent demon in withdrawl... it's horrible to think about, isn't it?

That's why I want to talk to him, too. If his mother was a demon, he may know a few things, but it doesn't pay to assume. He's probably feeling so very lost, though.

I'm always surprised how many young supernaturals are so unaware of their heritage. It's like there is some taboo about discussing it within the family. Elliot is lucky to have someone like you who is willing to explain it all.

Considering how many human children in the world don't even understand their own puberty, I'm not all that surprised. It's sad, though, that parents and children can't communicate as they need to.

I'm one to talk though. I've kept this secret from my mother for over a year, now. I suppose I knew I couldn't keep it secret forever.

Yes, I suppose you're right. It is indeed a sad state of affairs. I hope that, in our lifetimes, we may see at least some change in that.

It's different though, from daughter to mother. It's still life-changing for her, but there was reason for it to define the direction of her life until Elliot.
