Disgruntled Employee Gasses Hospital

Mar 07, 2009 01:21

On Friday afternoon at approximately 2:30 pm, Wayne General was the victim of a terrorist attack carried out by one or more employees. Jonathan Crane, a secretary currently employed by the hospital, showed up to work late today and released enough poisonous gas inside the crowded hospital to cause panic and rioting.

The gas is believed to be related to the infamous "fear toxin" used by the late Doctor Jonathan Crane (believed by many to be the same man, despite confirmed reports of the doctor's death), aka "Scarecrow," as all of the affected people reacted with visceral fear, severe panic attacks, and intense, frightening hallucinations. Unlike traditional fear toxin, the effects of the gas disappeared in most cases after several hours, but the panic that ensued resulted in five injuries and one fatality caused by the destruction of life support equipment. Additionally, one member of the senior surgical staff has been reported as missing, whose name has been withheld by the hospital's request. Crane primarily targeted the burn ward and the psych ward, although the gas dissipated into the maternity ward and the emergency room as well.

Further supporting fears that this man is the same Doctor Crane who attacked the Narrows last year are reports that the employee responsible for the attack was wearing the infamous burlap mask that became the trademark of his "Scarecrow" criminal persona. The incident has caused confusion among the Wayne General staff, who claim that the secretary was typically mild-mannered and pleasant, making many friends among the staff despite his odd quirks.
