The Realisation That I Am Now A Worldwide Adult.

Dear friends,

I celebrated my 21st Birthday yesterday.

It was a great day and I had a lot of fun. Started the day by going to the local Pool hall to play a rack or 15. I won convincingly, which was made all the sweeter by the knowledge that my friends share my sadistic sense of humour and would have loved to beat me on my day. Some of you who read this might think that is a bit harsh, but I thrive on the competition. Honesty is important and so is playing to win. It's a shame for them that they didn't! :D

Later in the afternoon, I went to the cinema to watch Inside Man. It was honestly the only thing showing that seemed to be at all appealing. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, though. I was quite impressed by the performances of Clive Owen and Jodie Foster (neither of whom I rate very highly for their acting). Denzel Washington was on top form as usual and delivered one of his, in my opinion, finest performances since The Bone Collector. My praise might be the result of just wanting to like my Birthday film, but considering the duration time of 2 hours 15 minutes the fact that my Grandfather (93 on the 16th) didn't fall asleep is higher praise than I can give with words.

It has become somewhat of a custom to order pizza as the food of choice on Birthdays, as we don't normally eat it. Yesterday, I had Beef and Onion and it was just as tasty as I thought it would be. As my Father likes to lift from the comedian Mark Thomas, "McYum!"

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the day, received some nice presents and the reassurances that I have more to come (never a bad thing to hear!!).

I don't really feel any different, but it is nice to know that (should I want to waste a month's earnings) I can now gamble at the local casinos.
