Winter vacation
Sitting in the Reno airport. Arrived about 4 hours early for my flight, but just in the nick of time for Lizzy's flight given the Southwest line stretched past all of the other carrier's counters.
It has been a good vacation. The area got around 3-4 feet of snow within 24 hours of my arrival, which helped open up Heavenly mountain. It felt good to ski again. I even managed several black diamond bump runs. None gracefully, but still! A ski popped off on one of them, but that was the only spill I took over the week and a half. I know, I wasn't trying hard enough. The last day was surprising cold, so I didn't get in long day like I hoped. It is a good sign that that was the largest disappointment.
Family time was pretty good, too. The house didn't get overcrowded, and most of the high-energy people were either in and out, or not there long. Cousin Ed and his wife (who are getting married in a few weeks, despite being married...) were there, and they appreciated their own down/quiet time, so it worked out well for the most part.
I'm in a money fantasy football league with Ed, and its last week was the past weekend. Due to an improbable finish, I finished second to his first place. I then took part of my winnings and made my first casino sports book bet ever - the over on the Falcons/Cardinals game. I took my winnings last night and promptly left town. Nope, not making a habit of that activity.
Oh yeah, I got my Wii fitness age down to 23 then ski jumped for 366. Let's hear it for worthless accomplishments!
I should get back to Oly earlyish this evening, then maybe get caught up on your LJ's too...
