[He didn't bother to reply; he arrived in the infirmary five minutes later, stopping at the threshhold and looking around for her.

He hadn't been spending much of his time there, given their...disagreement.]

[Martha was in the office, doing her worried pacing walk. She didn't like this, she didn't like it one little bit. She was going over her memories, all the ones where she talked to Adam, or treated him, or something like that... it couldn't have been real. But she remembered talking to him, telling him about how she had feelings for Snape and how could that be faked on a scale for so long...

Everyone knew Adam. Her journal was open in front of her, and she kept looking at the message, and looking at her records... Adam wasn't there.]

[When he didn't see her, he crossed the stretch of the room to the office and knocked, ignoring the recuperating patients.]

The memory thing, I thought it might be someone using Rex's nanomites, so I've been checking everyone who's come forward with it. Then Kay asked me if Adam was in my hard copy files, and he's not Severus. I remember treating him and talking to him so many times but he's not in my files.

[She frowned and then she showed him the conversation with Kay.]

I don't understand how someone can do something on this big of a scale.

[He moved to look over her shoulder at the conversation in question, then frowned.]

You must be mistaken. He's a friend of ours, Martha.

[He, of course, kept no copies of his own journal entries.]

I know, but I keep hard copies of lists when things happen, and he's not on them. Not for dying after Coyo, not for when the bomb when off, not for anything. I don't understand, because I remember that...
