Well, this is terribly sad. Doctor McCoy will be missed, and I'm certain he'll be back. Until then, don't worry, the infirmary will function as it always has.

He's already asked, Sexby, and I've already told him that he could as long as he didn't attempt to overdo his recovery. I think that working in the infirmary seems to help him, and I'm completely willing to continue that for as long as you and he are willing too.

I'm thinking about perhaps giving him a bit more responsibility, depending on how things go with his legs. I think it might help him realize that he is, in fact, a valuable member of the infirmary staff. I wouldn't do it without your permission, of course.

Of course, Sexby. I wouldn't do anything that would interfere with his rehabilitation, and I wouldn't do anything that would make him feel useless either.

It sounds as if you're speaking from personal experience, Sexby. It's been a while since I've heard about Brian or his plans for your hand. Have things gotten any further?

I think that having some power might help with that a little bit, teach him a bit of responsibility, but I don't know. Let me know when you think he's ready.
