Epic Poetry
El Cid is a cool guy. eh kills Muslims, defrauds Jews, and doesn't afraid of anything.
Seriously though, after finishing El Cantar de Mio Cid I can easily put it in the #1 spot of my favorite hero-epics. Of course, seeing as how the only other one I've read is Beowulf, that probably doesn't say all that much.
I'm still kind of in an epic-reading mood after checking it out, and thought I might go with Gilgamesh next. Any suggestions about some other good titles to add to my short list (the only other epics I've read are Paradise Lost and The Rape of the Lock)?
