Yay tornado season

So I was woken up by blaring sirens about 45 minutes ago. Confused, I looked out my windows and saw that heavy sheets of rain were falling and strong gusts of wind were whipping the trees into a frenzy. Needless to say, I got out of bed and checked the news. It turned out that there was in fact a tornado cutting through town, but it started following an interstate and left pretty quickly with minimal damage. Even though the tornado may have left, the storm itself is still pretty bad. It's just now starting to subside a bit; I was worried for a while there that my windows might get blow in because the wind was hitting them so hard.

I think the thing that has interested me the most throughout this thing, are the peoples' reaction. The whole time, cars still went down the road as normal, students and professors were walking across campus -- getting drenched aside from their umbrellas. As I understand it, Springfield has to deal with tornadoes far more regularly then we did back in KC, so I guess it's just a matter conditioning.

Oh well, whatever. Guess I'll go back to watching Mazinkaiser.
