I HAVE INTERNET AT HOME!! I finally feel like I'm back in civilization. Although I am going to miss the long evenings at Barrique's with an iced coffee and public wireless.
Moving was...well, moving. We moved my stuff last Saturday and Sean's stuff last Sunday. I have at least twice as much stuff as he does, plus three times more furniture, plus I live on the third floor. I am incredibly lucky that he loves me so much. And that Louis owed him a favor, because there is no way I would have been able to get the heavy furniture up here.
Headboard--complete!!
Dresser--refinished (and looking SEXY)!!
Living room chair--recovered!! Still have to do something with the legs, but I LOVE the fabric and I couldn't be patient enough to strip and stain the legs properly. So painting will probably be the way to go there.
Still to purchase: sofa (I'm getting more and more tired of the comforter on the living room floor), coffee table, barstools, curtains. Other than that, I think I'm done buying.
The chair no longer squeaks, but now my living room smells like WD40. Hopefully that, plus the heady varnish smell, will disappear whilst I am in DC.
DC in three days!! NYC in eight days!! Pittsburgh in ten days!! And Court's wedding in thirteen days!!
I miss my crazy boyfriend, who is canoeing and camping and gallivanting around the boundary waters, multiple hours north. I miss talking to him. Nobody else is interested in the silly goings-on of my day. (Well, he might not be interested, either, but at least he listens without complaining.)
I can see my living room floor. I can see my bedroom floor. This is new. It feels so big and empty in here without all of the boxes stacked around. And without a sofa. Hopefully the arrival of my new rug (tomorrow, plz and tanks) will help the living room. And I need a sofa. I hate being so picky.
