down in the valley, on my knees, asked my lord have mercy please

it's been a pretty intense and odd week.
concerts last friday and saturday went really well, and i got to know some new people which was good. then after the saturday one was the pcp (post concert party) which i hadn't intended to go to since i'm fully bus reliant and the buses stop after mid-night (way to fail, adelaide) but ryan convinced me and offered me a ride, plus he has one of those wallets that catches fire when you open it which is the coolest thing ever. he and his girlfriend (i don't know if that's the right term because they're in a polyamorous long distance relationship with a girl in melbourne, how confusing) aislinn have been in aucs for a few years and they were complaining that there haven't been any "fun" freshers recently, which is why they were soon keen to get us at the party. catherine, who's on exchange from the us for a semester, and frances, who i'd mistakenly picked as a bit of a goody goody jesus freak, went with us, and ryan supplied us with all the random alcohol he had lying around, baileys, cointreau, canadian club and butterscotch snapps. so we set ourselves up in a corner with a bottle of tropical juice and a bottle of milk (this comes up later) and proceeded to get pissed, like everyone else already was, although they were doing it in a civilised, red wine, sitting down, listening to the beatles kind of way. i was switching between baileys and milk and cointreau and tropical juice, but people kept putting the milk in the fridge which i could handle up to a point. several standard drinks in i was sipping my baileys, wondering why it tasted so weird and was getting thicker. eventually i realised i had accidently mixed it with tropical juice. i slowed down a bit after that. some other highlights included me showing my one-handed bra undoing prowess, frances stealing ryans belt and andrew donating his and both of them ending up on the other room and not one conversation that wasn't related to sex (except for a minor difference of opinion with a girl about whether snape was ultimately good or not). all in all, a pretty successful night, and the first time i've been drunk as a uni student! after three months, how pathetic.
sunday wasn't a lot of fun (that last shot of whiskey was definitely a mistake) and on monday i realised that i had a history essay due on wednesday and english on thursday, neither of which i had sufficiently started. and i also managed to spill coffee on my laptop, resulting in a few scary hours where certain keys wouldn't work/would do strange things, but it's pretty much fixed it's self apart from the down arrow (apple ftw).
and saturday night really caught up with me at aucs of tuesday, because i'd always been quiet in rehearsals and my drunken antics were somewhat unexpected and word kind of got around. the best bit was signing out new music from john and when i told him my name he said "are you rose from the pcp?". so i'm famous, albeit lindsay lohan-style. but one night drunk equals about two years sober in friendship terms.
anyway, back to uni work (how random is this post? also, remember when everyone said 'random' all the time?) i stayed up really late on tuesday because apart from the essay i had to prepare for a politics tutorial. so when i woke up under my own steam on wednesday i was pleasantly surprised, until i realised that it was ten to twelve and i'd missed my english tutorial (which was only an informal drop-in session this week anyway) and also the two hour break i was going to finish my politics stuff in. it probably wasn't the best decision, but i decided just not to go since my politics tute wasn't going to be any good if i hadn't prepared and my history lectures are online and crap mostly anyway. so i spent the entire day and night doing the history essay because even though it was past the deadline i was still too stupid and sleep deprived to focus properly, and i was scared that if i went to bed i'd sleep through my alarm again. but i finished it and got into uni at the usual time even though there wasn't an english lecture and printed it out and finished and photocopied my politics and handed it in. i can't even tell you how tired i was. i just got a huge coffee and read my history reading until my next lecture. i made it through the rest of the day without making any mistakes caused by tiredness, in fact i probably contributed in history more than usual. then i bought some fairtrade coffee at oxfam because i felt guilty for missing the fairtrade expo at uni on wednesday. then i had a nap (after being awake for 30hrs) before glee. is it wrong that i'm really attracted to kurt? and then i went to sleep and it was so glorious.
then today i assessed my situation english essay-wise and decided that since it's two marks per days late it was worth waiting 'til tomorrow when the library would be empty and the books returned and devoting an entire day to it. so i went to harbour town because i'm responsible like that. you'd have thought i'd learnt from the last time i has two assessments in one week. i really frustrate myself, i though i might break bad habits when i moved here but no such luck. at least now i don't have anything due for three weeks which will hopefully give me enough time to tidy everything up so i can find it for exams. ugh, and i've somehow managed to stay up too late again! i need more sleep! /tired mish-mash of nothing

assignments, sleep, adelaide, shopping, aucs, harry potter, drinking, my general ineptitude, uni
