There are some thrift stores that I never find stuff at. There are some places that I know that will get some decent things, but I will have to keep checking them out in order to find something good.

yeah, I think that going on a regular basis is part of the strategy. I just kind of went out to see what there was to see and it was a bit of a shock after not thrifting for a long while.

I'm not much of a thrifter either, mainly for the whole faded issue. But I can find all kinds of neat household stuff, like plates and gadgets, so I guess that makes it sort of ok. My sister on the other hand? Total thrift queen!

I know and I envy people like that so! But one of my huge clothing peeves is fabric that is faded or pilled and besides finding a few new things with the tags on that didn't fit at all, everything just looked faded. I might have had more luck with skirts if I had had more time. I think I just need to start going more regularly and take my time sifting through. Or save my pennies and buy the things I really want new. Its a dilemma.

I suck at clothes thrifting. I have almost never found cute stuff and it never fits me either. I gave up...I thrift only for knick knack type stuff these days.
Enjoy your freedom!

I am enjoying it! Its strange and delightful all at the same time. Somehow I am hardly ever idle and I haven't been bored yet. At the same time when left to my own devices I do things like clean my shower curtain liner of mildew and spray and wipe out the oven. I am nuts.

I'm not a fan of thrifting clothing. Bad at it, never find anything and for some reason, I always start to itch. Totally in my head, I know!!

Not in your head. Frequently they just wash everything in this really caustic soap to get it "clean" and I've bought things that made me itch too. And then I never wore them. Blah!

Just being in thrift stores makes me itch. That's why I don't buy the clothing.

Hii! ^^ Pardon if this seems super random but I found your profile cause I saw you're into sewing! I'm just starting out (as in I just finished my first project, yay), so I was wondering if you'd like to be LJ friends. ^.^

It's okay if you don't post about sewing too much, I like meeting new people and having an interest in common is a good enough reason (at least to me!). Er, let me know! <3 :D
