crunch

this morning when i got up it was raining
but it was cold enough to freeze

since there was snow already, it put a layer of ice over everything

while that makes for treacherous driving, it makes for loads of fun noises

i went out to shovel, and the dog went running out ahead of me
she went bounding into the 'snow' and slid out of control.
her back legs arent very strong (due to accidents...) and it was great watching her try to get them to support her on the ice

it was probably like watching an old person try to get up on some ice, except since it was the dog, i was allowed to laugh

then the shoveling..
the snow was a lot heavier because of the ice, and what a pain!
every time i would toss a scoop, it would skitter around and slide back down onto the walkway
so i had to throw it extra far so it would skitter away from me

after i got done with that, i crunched around the yard

ice covered snow is a great stress relief
just pick up a chunk of the icy crust and chuck it at the rest
it makes that great breaking glass noise
and gives you the same satisfaction (like throwing rocks at windows)

yay!
