Wow!
Hi -- I just discovered this community by accident and I can't tell you how thrilled I am to find it. As it would happen, I play Tonks in an RPG and we've got a really great Bill/Tonks ship going there, mostly started by me. I haven't gotten around to writing any fic based on my own views of how they got together but I think they're an awesome
Grrr, I really should have logged the play where Bill took Tonks to see some miniature dragons underneath Gringotts. Afterwerds they talked about different types of snogging, flirted! and he then asked her out. It was very cute and the player and I could have edited into a story. Blast.
Yeah, Bill is a hottie.
I wasn't looking for Harry or Draco pairings, I was looking for Tonks fic on ff.net and there it was. Tonks goes to investigate something at Malfoy manor and Draco catches her. Then there was the story where Tonks and Harry carry on an underaged affair. -.-
Dude, I didn't even touch on the femme slash pairings. They kind of bother me in general because most of what I've seen either involve teenagers or her relatives. What's worse is I've seen fics that pair Tonks/Hermione/Ginny.
I also have a problem with fics that get Tonks' characterization wrong. Like wearing a really revealing outfit or being 100% silly all of the time. We know she's not silly all of the time, she was quite menacing to the folks on the Knight Bus.
That's just my opinion though.

You're probably right. I just tend to dislike that sort of person in general and so it spills over even to characters. If she winds up in the OoTP before the end of the books, she might redeem herself for me. Still, it's kind of squicky that Ron fancied her too.

Damn. that would've been fun to read. I'm trying to work on a ficlet challenge about Tonks and Quidditch that actually would tie in to my version of Bill/Tonks relationship but like most things, I'll be lucky if it sees the light of day before 2010.

There's a lot of Tonks/Harry apparently. My own feeling is that he (Harry) might crush on her but I doubt it would be mutual. He's only 16! In our RPG, Draco actually is crushing on Tonks but nothing's gonna happen. I think.

Eeep! Scary! Actually, I find the Tonks/Bellatrix ones worse!! That's just...ewwwww! (and it has nothing to do with girls/girls. Just I can't see anyone with Bella. *shudders*)

Exactly. I tend to play her as a smartass who doesn't always listen to people. can get herself into trouble and is very headstrong. In the RPG, it's hard to make her as clumsy as she ought to be (just cos it gets annoying to remember to have her break something or trip over something in every scene) but other than that, I find her really fun to write. Of course, she tends to argue with people all the time (esp. our Sirius who was brought back to life in a pretty smart way) but then again, she did argue with Mad Eye about where to put your wand and stuff, didn't she?
