Shipping Back From Boston.

Jul 21, 2008 16:05

So, Boston was incredible. While, admittedly, I did stay inside Nick's room a bit too much... I eventually got out and braved the wild streets and sidewalks of the grand city of Boston... and not to mention the T (which was a ride in more ways that one). Boston was gorgeous.

The first day I actually went out by myself, I found my way to the Boston Public Library. I eventually sat down at the library for about four hours and proceeded to sketch the Trinity Church and the stoplight at the intersection of Huntington and Dartmouth. Perhaps I shall post them on facebook, or on here later... I'm just posting cause I'm excessively bored at work.

I've been sketching a bit more. Did a sketch of Tycho Brahe from Penny Arcade in their strip "Painting the Line." It's the first panel. I've yet to draw Gabe yet... I guess perhaps because I align myself more with the personality and sensibilities of Tycho... I dunno.

For those who aren't aware... I've been sinking in further and further into the World of Warcraft. I have hit what was previously the level cap of 60 until Burning Crusade (the first expansion) came out, which hiked the cap to 70. My main character is a Night Elf Druid named Aarrana (yeah, she's a female... for the simple reason that I already had a Night Elf male and didn't want to create another...). If I ever manage to procure a screenshot of her or something, perhaps I'll post. In the meantime, while she's levelling to 70, I've decided to begin play with a Male Human Paladin named Liric. He's at a lowly level 7 right now... but he'll be moving on up in no time. I've had the game since June 1 and I have been successfully sucked in. And unlike cigarettes, they don't make gum for this shit... patches, yes... but no gum. If any of my readers out there decide to join with me... I'm playing Alliance on the Blade's Edge server. I have Horde characters, but I haven't really played them yet and I'm not sure what server they're on (read: I forgot). So, I've been keeping myself fairly entertained.

Saw Dark Knight while in Boston and will post a separate review of TDK shortly (as long as I don't leave from work before I get the chance.) In other entertainment news, I've also been wondering where the teaser trailer is for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince? Come on WB! The movie releases in November and we still have no real teaser trailer!? Yeah, you've released the IMAX teaser... but what was that? A couple of seconds of images and a line from Dumbledore? (I haven't really seen it yet, but that is what I have seen reported). We've had rumors that it was gonna be shown with movies since before Indiana Jones released. Most recently rumored to be accompanying the new Mummy movie. With what we've seen already, I doubt that (but I can still hope!).

That's enough from me for now. The 15 Hour drive from Boston wore me out, yes... but I'm rested and ready for more!
