Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls,
I'm looking for some new material.
I need:
books
movies
new music (songs, cds, artists)
musicals
tv shows to watch on dvd
podcasts
I have extremely eccentric tastes, so i'm open to just about anything.
Any recommendations? =]
musical,
music,
books

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. When I read that book, I had such a hard time putting it down... it just kept calling to me, you know? And I haven't had a book do that to me in a long time. 'tis fantasy.
Read the first three Bourne books. Amazing read, if you're into that sort of style.

Movies: The Fall (in theaters now, so may not be in Stockton/Lodi, but AMAZING movie), American Psycho, Across the Universe (you NEED to rent this one. Or borrow it from me when I'm home), Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Little Miss Sunshine and Sweeney Todd (if you haven't already seen them).
Music: The new Counting Crows CD is really good. Ever listened to Cream? Clapton love. Ingrid Michaelson, Feist, Imogen Heap. I'm not great at keeping up with music.

American Psycho scared the bejeebers out of me. I'm on a Christian Bale kick lately though haha. Not to sound like everyone and their mother right now but.. Have you seen the new batman movie? =] Havn't heard of the Fall, but I'll ask Wren to drive to Sac with me to see if we can find it. STILL haven't seen Across the Universe. No one will watch it with me, and I have been dying to see it since it was in theaters. Ugh. Own Hedwig (due to a Netflix fluke), but only saw the first half. Own Little Miss Sunshine (looove it) and Sweeny Todd ( ... )

Prachett did write the Death character that I talked about from his Discworld series. He shows up a bit in Good Omens, though he's much more fun in the Discworld universe.
I watched American Psycho with Michael and he told me it was a parody that completely wouldn't scare me. I think he felt bad about that when I hid in his shoulder and refused to watch once the chainsaw came out. But I still loved it. Yeah, the new Batman is so awesome. I don't even like action movies and it was great anyway.
I'll be home in Stockton for a week starting August 16 or 17th, so you should come over and we can break out my extended DVD of Across the Universe :)
