I can't wait to go back to school. Freedom and learning and parties and all that. I have a large pile of dorm shit in my bedroom that is overtaking everthing. I'm obsessively making lists (what I need to buy, what I bought, what I'm taking, books I can get online, books I don't need...) because that's what I do when I get anxious.
Kalyah and my room is going to be awesome. Party central. Much more interesting and fun and funky than JD and my room last year. It was a little lacking. My birthday is on a Thursday, so I'm already thinking about that. Birthdays between the ages of 10 and 17 kind of suck because it's lame to have birthday parties, but they've just started to get fun again.
I'm covering shifts at Street Corner for someone who is going on tour. I'm not getting my wisdom teeth out till Christmas because no one has the time or energy to deal with them right now. Oral surgery combines my two greatest fears: teeth problems and needles. Instead of getting my wisdom teeth out next week, I'm getting a haircut. At least classes are over for the summer. I got a 3.0 and 4.0 in micro- and macroeconomics, respectively. Woo!
I'm moving in early to State because we have a family reunion the weekend before classes start and I need to suck all the fun out of what's left of Welcome Week before I have to go to school for real. The reunion's in Ohio, and it's my Nana's side of the family, who I've never met before. Who even knows how that'll go.
I just read When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris, and it had me cracking up every two minutes. I'm listening to the One Day as a Lion EP by One Day as a Lion, who really is Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against the Machine and Jon Theodore of The Mars Volta. I've never really been into Rage, but I'm really enjoying the EP.
