Running into friends
So this is kind of fun. To begin with, I have to make a confession. I went to see 'Meet the Spartans' with my brother. It was late, and we were bored, so we went. I'm not p. roud of it, but there it is.
A little ways into the film they introduce a character, and I think how much it reminds me of a guy I knew in high school. I start thinking about the guy and trying to remember his name, Jared or Caleb or something. So the movie proceeds and I keep thinking how much this one actor reminds of what's-his-name, but on the other hand, I say, there's 300+ million people in the country; it's bound to be someone who looks like him. The end of the movie comes, and there's enough doubt in my mind that I have to stay and see the credits. A couple of the 'big' names go by: Diedrich Bader, Kevin Sorbo, etc. Then, there it is, Jareb Dauplaise. This was a kid I had played football with and given him and his date a ride to prom and now he was sharing a scene with Carmen Electra! Now, I'm no fan of Carmen Electra, but it's still kind of neat to know that I've gotten within two degrees of her, not to mention Hercules and Drew Carey's best friend.
I checked it out later online, and it was definitely him. I'm thinking a few of you might have known him too. Had anyone else heard that Jareb had accomplished so much?
