our next door neighbor is, as i type, installing an outdoor electrical outlet in our back patio area. of course, i've already outfitted the backyard with landscaping lights, tiki torches and candles, but still, it'll be so nice to not have to drag miles of extension cords to say, plug in the laptop or speakers or another bright spot light or something.
EDIT: he also just gave us two cushioned rockers for our yard.
also, our older kitty, Baby, is quite sick. we took him to the vet last week cause he just wasnt' himself. he was super dehydrated, lost a lot of weight. they said most likely kidney disease. he spent two nights in the ER getting fluids and such. they wanted to do ultra sounds and x-rays and everything, but we just can't afford those kinds of diagnostics. we took him home and have been plying him with drugs and subcutanious fluids (sticking the cat with a needle and administering IV fluids).
he's better now, eating, fighting back when giving him medicine, etc.
all the neighbors love him and have been asking about him. we're probably going to have to start letting them visit him inside the house soon. let's hope it's just an infection and the drugs and fluids make him all better.
