Well it's been a great month for challenge entries. I'm so glad people rose to the challenge! And that you for being patient with the few little muddles that happened along the way.

Before I announce the results there is an important matter of business to get out of the way. It has come to the mods attention that an error at the beginning of the ( Read more... )

Whoop whoop! I loved all these fics, well done to all winners!

ESPECIALLY shufflealong - GO GO GO TEAM WATSON :D :D :D

I suppose I'll own up to number 19 (John loses his arm in Afghanistan, which ultimately changes nothing!)

Great story! I loved that idea, especially Sherlock's response. You were one of my three.

Oh my goodness, you were my top choice. Not only did you have Sherlock react perfectly (that it didn't matter), but then you gave us a bonus of schmoop at the end. Wonderful!

Your top choice? I'm so flattered and so very glad you liked it, especially since I was worried about the fact that nothing seemed to change despite the fact that John lost an arm! And yeah, I couldn't not add the schmoop :D

That's why it was so brilliant though. It could've been such an overdramatic change, but you kept it somewhat matter-of-fact, which was pitch-perfect. And it was interesting to note that such a major change didn't have as much impact as you would imagine it to have. That itself was a great twist.

I do hope you plan on posting it.

I agree. I voted for both of yours as my top two. The one by shufflealong. The bit about John and his hand being warm had me so intrigued. I kept thinking about what that meant afterwards. I hope you write a follow up.

And jesse_kips the one about John losing his arm. I'm not afraid to say I was anxious reading your story at first, but by the end you owned me. It had such a sense of comfort. Sherlock's response to John still being the same, that it didn't matter to him. Both characters just felt spot on even with your twist. And the fact that you got the warmth in too. Loved that.

Oh, thanks so much! I'm so glad that the characters felt spot on, and the warmth between them came through. Very happy you enjoyed :D
