What did you do on your summer vacation?

Part 1 of 3?

This is going to be genormously long because it covers over 2 weeks of events that I have no idea how I am capable of remembering them, but I did. I’m going to space it out into like 2 or like 3 different posts. This should be the first part. I wonder, what did you do on your summer vacation? It’s like another freakin comic book. Sigh, spring break memories, I hate them. Look, I even posted 2 hours earlier then I said I was going to. Happy me!

Thursday; packing day

Everyone had been running around the house all day. I had already packed all my crap and was ready for the trip. I had a long bag for clothes, my carry on bag that would sit with me (it was my red bag with all my “something to do” stuff in it), and my goody bad that my mom packed for me that had cookies in it and duck taped shut with my name written on it with sharpie. All to make sure that no one besides me eats the cookies inside. I also packed the gamecube and its screen that Alex broke in my blue backpack. That backpack doesn’t count as my own item because everyone uses it. I was just curtious enough to pack it for others, that I was.

Alex took all day to pack. He had his long bad for clothes and his red bag for shoes, and then two other smaller bags for shoes… and his bathroom bag. (I had my bathroom bag in my long red bag). He took up the most room. But he did wash all my clothes and then pack the cooler (not me, but for ice and stuff). Dad gets home and is all worried about Jan and how much crap she brought along compared to Alex. And he hadn’t even started to pack yet!

Jan finally gets to the house and says that something is wrong still wrong with the van, even after it just came out of the shop. The thing was leaking fluid or oil or something. I know nothing about cars. But the thing was most likely unable to make the +2000 mile round trip. So we are forced to use the car. Luckily we borrowed a rooftop carrier incase this would happen. Most Alex and Jan’s crap went on the top. Dad then went back and forth worrying about everyone else and not packing and then realizing that he needs to pack and then panicking about Jan and my remarks about how this isn’t my fault that we have to have another person In the car, which we don’t HAVE to take Jan.

So, with dad frustrating over everything and me being sick of it all because he shut off my computer while I was trying to talk to people and ended up calling Nate and telling him that if he wanted to borrow my deck, he would need to get here and get it from me before I leave at 4 in the morning the next day. He got there about an hour later with Adam. I handed him the deck and told him not to lose it. Personally I was not really in the mood to lose approx. 250$ worth of cards. Adam took eager to come in and play magic and I think that they both wanted to come in and hang out for a while, but that would make my dad explode if more people showed up. Sorry guys, I really wanted to do something besides keep my family happy.

I eventually got back on the computer and started my plan to stay up untill4 and then sleep in the car all day until we got to Michigan. But dad told me to go to bed when he woke up at 3:30. He said that because of complications we wouldn’t be leaving until 9. I sooner found out that the complications was the fact that Jan hadn’t packed yet and then we would need to drive to Augusta to pick her up in the morning because she didn’t want to leave her kids alone. (The kids are 9,16, and 19 year old. Like they still need their mother.) So we picked her up at around 10 and then started our journey to Michigan. I pretty much played my GBA the entire time. I finally completed Advance Wars. I could never beat the Rival’s mission. And I played and beat four swords. Fun fun. Lots or rest stops, blah, blah, blah. We get to a hotel around 11.

At the hotel I ate my soup that I always get from the same china restaurant Illinois. I love the place because you get so much food and it is SOOO good. I love it. I kept that and the cookies my mother gave me to my self and neglected to share them with anyone else because they didn’t believe me at first that that place was so great. We then slept.

Friday; the light at the end of the tunnel

My brother wakes me up at approximately 6. He tells me to wake up and shower. So I do. I straggly waltz into the bathroom and get all happy and smelling nice. Only to be greeted with the smell of the car which contained the result of half eaten White Castle hamburgers, hot ass, and starburst. Yum, Yum. We then drive…more driving…. Then we hit a traffic jam off on 94. That set us back 1.5 hours. But we arrived at Aunt Lois’s house at around 3 o’clock.

Aunt Lois is a big lady with a large voice and sometimes can talk too much. She lives with her husband, Earl. He is cool and really down to earth. Yes, he commonly uses the word “Dude.” Oh heck yea! Rachel then showed up with her Boyfriend Scott. They’ve been going out for 3 years now. They got their own place and stuff, but I know that she can find better. *Sigh* they are going to have the stupidest kids….

But after we unpacked all the crap and dad got done yelling at me for Dropping the White Castles because Jan didn’t put the box lid on right because she had never had them before but lied to sound like she should fit in. But I did eventually end up going with Rachel to check out their new house. She had her friend Dawn there with her. I would so fall in love with her if she didn’t live here in Michigan and wasn’t like 20. But she was just beautiful and would laugh at everything that you would say. She was such a fun person.

We then went out to see the fireworks. That lasted a while. Rachel and Scott were talking the entire time. Scott brought his brother and friend. I don’t have a clue why. But after the fireworks we went to this downtown place. It is suppose to be lots of fun on Friday nights and stuff. It would have been nice to go there with some of my friends. But we went and walked around a while. We past a bunch of Goths and freaks that were loitering outside a building. And Rachel and Scott kept making fun of them. That cut me down a whole bunch. Those would be my friends if I lived it Michigan. I don’t know why they had to do that. It made me feel bad for the rest of the night. I was wearing my black pants and spider shirt so I fit in fine. But Rachel and her friends don’t act that way. They think they are too good for people like them. I was saddened. I was going to buy a Rave CD from one of them but too fast Rachel pushed me past them because I wanted to stay and talk for a while. Idiots. Rachel is the most ditzyest person I know.

We then got some ice cream and a hamburger. She or Scott didn’t even treat me. The jerk. I was their guest and only thereto see Rachel anyways. We then left the ice cream place and when to walk back towards the car so that we could go to her house. We were to spend the night there. As we walked to back to where the Goths were I could here Scott’s dumbass remarks about them. He was like “Here we go Rachel, look out.” What a douche. I wanted to smack him. We then left and went to Rachel’s house where we stayed up playing cards and playing Vise City. I didn’t have that much fun. We fell asleep on the living room floor of their trailer around 4 in the morning.

Saturday; off to see the little ones

I was woken up by the sound of Dawn screaming as Alex smacked her in the face with a pillow. I wanted to antique Scott but they didn’t have any flower. They have a negative cash flow problem. I wonder why. I eventually start playing Vise City and get pretty hooked on the game. My uncle James showed up with his son Vinny (Vincent) He is 8 or 9, I’m not sure. He is quite spoiled and can’t complete a game without some sort of cheating devise. I think Gameshark is his homepage on his computer. But him and I stayed there playing the game for about 3 hours while James and Scott went to get something for his Van. It was broken or something. I know nothing about cars.

James got back and he left with Vinny and I left with Rachel to go over to Aunt Lois’s house. Aunt Lois’s house has become a hotel. We come, we leave, its all good. So I came there and my cousin Jeremy’s kids are there. Cory, John, and Derek. (9,4,2 in that order.) I played with the little kids and talked to Jeremy for a little bit about games and stuff. Somehow in the middle of it all I got talked into going to spend the night at his house. I then prepare a bag and the gamecube so that I could live in piece for a night. I wanted some form of sleep.

I get there and then Raquel (Jeremy’s wife) leaves to go get some Hot n’ Now hamburgers. Cory and I head to the computer and play on that for a while. He has RPG maker and I tinker with a game for him. Anything to help him learn how to read and stuff. He is struggling with his learning skills but I can see the John is going to be a genius. Then we ate our food, so did the dog; Buddy. Then my cousin Tony and Luke showed up. Tony is 14, I’m a month older, and is the computer part of me that rarely gets to shine. Luke, his younger brother, is 5 or 6. I’m not sure. Luke and John (Jeremy’s John) don’t get along well. John will get over excited about things and Luke won’t be able to stand for it. So I usually get to keep everyone in line. After we ate our food my and Tony convinced Raquel to pick up Vise City as a rental. She did and it was fun for the first five minutes and then there would be a disk error; the game was scratched to heck. What a drag.

For the rest of the night, Tony and I played some of they’re other games; mostly Dynasty Warriors. I’ve always loved the game and I’m temped to get number4 when I get back to Kansas. Around noon I get a call from my dad asking if I wanted to go fishing or to Mackinac Island when we go camping. I was like CAMPING!?!?“ If you people don’t already know, I’m not that much of an outdoorsman. So I had to gather all of my crap before dad makes the 5-minute drive over here from Aunt Lois’s house. Also during this time, he neglected to tell me that he was going to Aunt Lori’s house. I wanted to go and visit one of my cousins, Frankie. So I missed out there because no one tells me anything on this trip, not to mention that dad is mad at me 24/7.

So I get driven over by my dad and he tells me to pack for a 4-day trip up north by Indian River. *Points to hand to explain location* I dislike camping but Jan does not, therefore: We go camping. I fight with dad for a little bit about it and then I get a phone book to find out if there are any places where I can do Friday night Magic. There are none in Roseville and almost none in the Detroit area worth driving to. So I call up Wizards in the Lakeside mall (like I should of in the first place) and get information on a type2 tournament starting at 6 on Friday. I got to be there by 5:30, blah, blah, DCI, blah, new card, blah, need laminator.

We take two vans. In the first van is Uncle Earl, Aunt Lois, Me, Alex, And Jan And Dad in the back seat by them selves. In the second Van we have Uncle James, Vinny, my half-cousin Marylyn, and Grandma Revard. We left at around 6 because Jan and Aunt Lois couldn’t get their crap together for the trip. I only brought one bag. I even fit all my cards in it for the tournament when we get back. The big plan for the mini-trip was to camp for 3.5 days and then get dropped off at my Grandma Chobad’s house (mom’s side; a.k.a. Busha) for about a day and then get driven to the lakeside mall just in time for my tournament that I expect to not do crappy in. It is a 5-hour tripe so we got there around 11 at night. I mostly played Advance Wars while listening to my Linkin Park copy. I tried to read but Aunt Lois’s voice kills all hope of that ever happening. Who knows when I will be able to return pats books that I borrowed. But I was content for the way there; there was lots of Mountain Dew to keep me quiet.

When we got there Alex set up a fire that had to be put out. I got the water in the water pump to start working. We threw out stuff in the cabin that we would be staying. I kicked around Aunt Lois’s little rat dogs. Brittney and Tiffany; the most annoying animals on this planet. A nice dog would be good but these are just stupid and annoying. I ended up playing Advance Wars and watching TV on my portable 3in that I brought with me. Yes I’m a well-trained camper. I was to sleep in this room with two bunk beds. But I didn’t trust what could be living in the room or the covers so I inclined to sleep on the couch in the living room. But not 30 minutes after I lie down to rest, there is this scratching sound from underneath the cabin that doesn’t want to stop. I waited for it to stop, but it didn’t. Eventually it woke dad up and he went to find out what it was, it turned out to be a porcupine that was chewing on the bottom of the trailer. So he shewed it away and then went back to sleep. But then, less then 10 minutes later, I hear this flapping sound flying around the room that I’m staying in. the room was connected to a sub living room where James and Vinny were sleeping on a pullout bed/couch thing. I yell to dad who is 2 rooms over that there is a bird in here. He comes out with Jan and his flashlight and looks around and sees a bat flying around Uncle James area where he is sleeping. I go under the covers as the thing flies to close to my head and sits on the window that I’m next to. Eventually James is woken up and he leaves for his van and locks the doors. It puzzles me to why he locked his doors; I don’t think bats can a van door, let alone a lock. The bat stopped and we all thought that It was gone, but after I got into the untrusted sheets of the bunk-bed and started to play my GBA, the bat came back and fluttered around the room and then left. It had to terrorize me one last time. I then fall asleep.

Sunday; Peace never lasts

I am woken up by the sound of Aunt Lois yelling at the dogs. Earl was making food and I pretended to sleep so to avoid having to be eaten by bugs. When I did come out I found out that they caught the bat from last night. They had it in an empty Pepsi case. Earl then let it go. James wanted to kill it. It was 9 and I had to put on sun screen for the fishing trip. It turned out that only James, Vinny, and I would be fishing. Everyone else (except earl) was going to Mackinac Island to spend money. I just wanted to fish.

Once we got there we set our pools out and then sat back to relax. Then we saw a turtle laying its eggs in the sand. It was like nothing I’ve ever seen. James then took the turtle with him to the van after it was done. He has a pond at his house and he thought he would take it with him to the pond. He also considered taking the eggs with him as well.

But as I sat there, not catching anything I thought about everything. I felt happiness. I was nowhere near my father and his yelling and nowhere near a computer to communicate with my friends back home. It gave me time to think. Time to think about people in my life and people I may never meet. I’m just trying to become a better person all together, just wondering how I could do that. Trying not to think about Andrea. It is sort of hard when I have to pass a place called “Andrea’s fish market” on the way to Aunt Lois’s house every time. And then the lady at the store, her name was Andrea. And then the stupid little Souvenir things with peoples name on them, hers was there at every rest stop. ARG! I don’t know why she wouldn’t leave me alone. I just wanted to fish her in piece. So I tried to make her disappear and just thought of other things, like my cards and games. Just anything.

In the end I caught two fish for keeps and one that we threw back because it was 3 inches. And if I get any 3 in jokes from anyone I swear I’m going to antique them while they are sleeping. But then we caught a total of 7 fish and we ended up eating them when we got back. James did eventually take the eggs with him as well. He only broke one when he took them out. He ended up with about 10 of them. I think he did a good job on getting them out. But it was inevitable, we had fun out of bait, so out fishing trip had ended.

When we got back to the campsite Earl was out there on he four-wheeler running around. So we unpacked all the stuff and then Earl gutted the fish so that we could eat them later. I went in and picked up a copy of MAD and started to read a Harry Potter parody thing. I was hilarious. After I finished that and was moving onto a SIGNS parody Earl called me outside for something. He immediately started to explain how the four-wheeler worked and stuff. Then he told me to go get a helmet. So I ran into the living room and got a helmet from off of the wall. I remember his last words before I took of and started to run around the park, “Be careful, this thing can hurt you.” Then I was off. I started out slow but I eventually got a feel for the thing and started to go 40MPH along a twisting path in the forest. It was so much fun. I eventually stopped and turned the crazy thing down for a while. I then went and picked up the magazine and finished it up. Then the other side of the day got here.

Dad arrived and started complaining about stuff, just trying to be Mr. Tough Guy in front of Jan. He can be a loz3r at times. They brought souvenirs for everyone too. Vinny and I got a pack of cards. I got junk in it, but it was nice to be thought of. Uncle James got a hat that was shaped like a bat and a T-shirt that said happy camper with a yellow smiley-face with a camping fat on; all as a joke. Aunt Lois got some Bullshit bags, also as a joke. And Alex and Marylyn got these funny little bouncy ball things that attached to their fingers and would come back to them after it was thrown. The dog was terrorized by these toys. Vinny got a Japanese pack though, so he didn’t even get a rare in it. I then showed him that I could ride the four-wheeler and Alex got jealous because Vinny and I had both rode it without him. Vinny rode it with James, of course. So I showed them how it works. Then a bunch of people left to go shower and stuff while we stay here. I didn’t want to shower because the dust from the four-wheeler was just going to get me dirty afterward. So I said I would shower in the morning.

So Alex and Dad rode the thing for a while and then I got back on. I then started to do tight laps around the cabin to kick up dust. I just thought it would be funny. I was having so much fun. Too running over bumps and stuff and bouncing up and down. It was great until I hit this messed up hump in the ground that sent my flying into the pumps hard plastic sink. I tried to move out of the way so that it wouldn’t hit the pump, so I missed the steal pump but smashed into the plastic tub that it was connected to. It sent the entire four-wheeler into the air with me in it. The last thing I remember after I hit it was my Dad yelling “Oh shit!” and my brother calling me a retard as I could see the bike inevitably fall to crush me because I was directly underneath it. I then hit the ground, hard. I was worried and then confused to why the thing didn’t crush me. I then got but and dusted myself off. I was fine. I found out later that it was my left leg that slammed into the tub and not the four-wheeler. It had swollen up and eventually turned into a bruise that I still have right now as I’m writing this over a week later. Dad said that id I didn’t have any leg mussel, my leg would have been broken. But the plastic tub was shattered.

I ended up wandering around trying to find all the pieces to the tub. I tried to put it together and I used a bunch of duck tape on the thing to hold it together. It would suffice until I bought a new one. I told Alex not to tell anyone and to keep it down low that I did something stupid and that I didn’t want it to be talked about after this. But I soon found out that he lied and told Marilyn about how Ryan was being a retard on the four-wheeler. That pushed it, I went inside and tried to go to sleep. But I got called outside and Alex told me that Marilyn had something to say to me. And she apologized to me. I don’t know why. She wasn’t the one that did anything wrong. It was Alex that wanted to be a big shot and act like he was better then me and stuff. I was not happy with him. James brought back another turtle too. I was just sick of it all. I wasn’t a happy camper.

That concludes all I want to write for part 1 of my vacation. I’m glad for all the people that sat and read it. I think I’ll post it 2 hours earlier, just to be nice. I'll get the rest done sometime. I don't know when. I wish i could of gotten more done, but I couldn't. Sorry guys. But I think this is nice for now.
