goings on
Well, last night I got Runner Up at the Page One awards for Art. It was pretty cool, since I was the first on stage, with Art being the first category, alphabetically. My parents and Chloe' came to see me. It was fun, I think, and she looked beautiful. :)
So what's been going on? Just closing up shop for the summer, and for the rest of my life, really. College is on the horizon, and I can actually see it now. I don't know if it scares me, or excites me. A little of both, but more of the latter, I suppose.
I got a huge ($60,000, $15k/yr) scholarship from SCAD (don't know if I posted it already) and $1000 from Helen Flemming Stone, $500 from New Mountain Hill Elementary PTA, and $500 from the Harris County Masonic Association. Also $700 from HCHS's NAHS. $3000/yr from HOPE, and about $1000/yr from GTEG. So I've pretty much got at least all of my tuition paid for, which is a big relief. Living expenses and art supplies are estimated to be $10-15k/yr, though.
But in the end, if I have to borrow it, a $40k loan would be much easier to pay off than a $150k one. :) I'm hopeful.
At the awards last night, and last week at Honors Night, I realized that I'm really proud of my class. We've all done a lot of great things, and I believe we'll all go on to be really successful. I can't wait to see what everyone's like at out first reunion. :D
Okay, that's it for now. I stayed home from school to work on this HUGE scuplture project, and also to finish reading Wuthering Heights (which, by the way, is NOT a terrible book, if you give it a chance). Okay, yeah, lots to do!
