Aesthetics

Just seen an absolutely amazing pic and video of a girl on a website I shouldn't admit to visiting.

I've always maintained that B is one of the most beautiful ladies in the world, and I do indeed love her aesthetic, but seeing images of this other lady online, just reminds me there are still some incredible aesthetics out there, that if you were single, you could fool yourself into believing you had a chance with.

"fool", or "console"?

Hmm.

Zizek:

When a lover drops his/her partner, it is always traumatic for the abandoned subject to learn about the third person who caused the break; is it not even worse, however, if the partner learns that there was nobody, that the partner dropped him/her for no external reason? In such situations, is the infamous "third person" the cause on account of which the lover dropped his/her erstwhile partner, or did this third person merely serve as a pretext, giving body to the discontent in the liaison which was already there? "In itself", the liaison was over before the lover encountered a new partner, but this fact became "for itself", turned into the awareness that the liaison was over, only through encountering a new partner. So, in a sense, the new partner is a "negative magnitude", giving body to the discontent in the relationship - precisely as such, however, she/he is neccesary if this discontent is to become "for itself", if it is to actualize itself.

The passage from In-Itself to For-Itself thus involves the logic of repetition: when a thing becomes For-itself, nothing actually changes in it, it just repeatedly asserts ("re-marks"), what it already was in itself.

My point of quoting this is,
I would rather a new relationship be about truly loving someone else.
NOT a mere opportunity to demonstrate I am putting B behind me.

Rather oddly, Martina is just a friend, but one of the reasons I love and appreciate her so much, is I have everything I ever wanted with Bev, with Martina instead. A mere friendship, but one where we truly love and care about each other? And I can tell her I love her, without her getting spooked I want anything, and without her boyfriend getting annoyed. That body of discontent statement, makes me wonder, whether, Martina is in some ways, two finger's up to my Lady Beverley, by saying - hey look - here's someone who actually gets me presents back, and whom isn't paranoid.

I remember hearing on the radio recently, a monologue drawing parallels between the Israeli/Hezbullah conflict, and problems that stem from some of the difficulties with human relationships.

Maybe we all need the return of happy hardcore rave, that feeling of love and unity.

Hmmpf. =) I always remember the obligatory Christmas stories in The Transformers Comic, and also Combat Colin, where even the nastiest of villians, would put down their arms for one day, and frolic in the snow.

happy hardcore, academia, aesthetics, transformers, bev, zizek
