I've been wanting to do a visual diary of just an average day for a while, having seen them over the internet the past few years. It was my dear friend Gem's blog at
Snarkattack which planted the final seed in my head though.
I didn't plan on doing it on this particular day, which was the Saturday just passed, but I was messing with my new phone and had already taken some pics that morning, and then thought, why not continue? The camera phone though, is the reason why some of the photos aren't as clear as they could be...
MonkeyPants enjoying the sun. We both had a lovely morning with the sun streaming in through the doors.
Breakfast! Burgen pumpkin seed bread with butter. I love this bread, it's dense and low GI, so I feel a tad healthier eating it, even if I do heap the toppings on...but hey, it's the weekend! One with honey, one with peanut butter. Yum. And tea of course, unusually with a splash of milk. Wearing: my super sexy purple dressing gown with zebras.
Consumed the above while catching up on my web pages
and searching recipes for what to make for dinner for the family on Sunday.
All while listening to some my favourite New Order albums:
Substance 1987, Waiting for the Siren's Call, Technique and Get Ready.
About 1pm I decided it was time to get out of the house and into the sunshine. Had to get some beads for some new beading projects and groceries now that I'd decided what to make: apricot chicken, sort of Moroccan style, and pavlova.
Hmmmm, what to wear, what to wear... I decided on
Lostmarc'h Iroaz (beachy dusty rose) and BPAL Eat Me (super sweet curranty vanilla cake)
Out in the sunshine. Was so nice to feel the warmth of the sun as winter is really setting in now.
A friendly kitty along the way. Pats were had.
Arrival at Crows Nest and The Bead Shop, which was my main reason
for the walk...and which was closed for the long weekend. Bummer.
At a clothes shop. Was amused to find some casual
Hammer pants hanging amongst the sale items.
Trying on a dress. This wasn't it, but I
bought a gorgeous dress on sale. Hurrah!
Was surprised to find Demeter perfumes in the Newsagents of all places!
David Jones had them for a while but only the limited Hawaii collection. I tried a few but was thrilled by none.
Grill'd. A new food place to try! Crows Nest now has two burger joints, this one and
The Burger Counter, which I have been to and yet to blog. Both places you can choose not to have a bun if you want a burger without having a burger.
Another new food place to try! The bento boxes looked good:
Sushi Town
Was a little sad to see Macro Wholefoods closing down.
And selfishly, where will I get my coconut oil so conveniently?!
Back home putting the groceries away and some general tidying and washing up.
Meh...but part of the day and it was satisfying to get some cleaning done.
Now time for a wee nap and cuddle time with Monkey
There was dinner, but I forgot to photograph it. It was some red curry tuna leftovers.
Here's some nuts instead. Woolworths' Savoury honey peanuts and chilli lime cashews.
Monkey would like some, even though she doesn't know it's nuts yet and that she won't be getting any.
A little bit of beading. Well, I looked at it anyway,
was getting a bit tired now and it was...
...Bathtime!
With bath goodies. The Avon Almond bubbles smell deliciously
toasted almond in the bottle, but not so much in the bath. Shame.
The
L'Occitane Amande Delicious Paste scrub is ridiculously expensive hence I have a small tub, but I love it. The smell reminds me of grated apples. I also have the foaming shower oil and body oil. The scrub is really gentle, makes more of a body cleanser. And I adore Crabtree and Evelyn's
Naturals Cocoa Butter, Nutmeg & Cardamom Creamy Body Wash - smells amazing, just like what the notes say.
A little bathtime reading ~ the menus from the burger and sushi joints
And after bath, more delicious smelling goodness:
Dove Pro-Age which is just a nice normal moisturiser, haven't noticed any amazing effects, plus
Perlier Fig and Olive body oil - a lovely, a dry oil which is lightly moisturising and smells delish. I couldn't find the fig one on the website, but I got mine extra cheap from Strawberrynet. And Crabtree & Evelyn Cacao Noir body cream - cacao spiced with pepper berry. I love this too. It was a limited edition at Christmas and is on sale now. I also got on sale the Pomegranate which has a little mistletoe in it and the Vanilla Blanc with jasmine smells just like Pink Sugar to me.
And facecare. I use a mix of stuff. At the moment it's mainly
Olay, Nutrimetics and Lancome. And always Paula's Choice BHA and antioxidants.
Finally cozy in the jim jams
A little surf before bed. M and I were going to watch some Primeval but tiredness overtook us..
Gave into the headache which had been slowly growing all afternoon, before falling into bed.
And that be the day. :)
