These are just a few of the reasons why I continue to be so addicted to perfume...
Possets ~ Haute Love
Even from the bottle Haute Love is a true scrumptious chocolate ginger! And on, oh yes! It’s just like the Darrell Lea chocolate gingers I sometimes eat! This is pure and simple chocolate ginger, not too sweet or too foody. The ginger is crystalised just right, it’s not too sugary and the ginger is tamed to be just zippy enough. My only sadness is that the ginger dies down after half an hour or so, but I’m glad that it leaves Fabienne’s gorgeous chocolate note, which is a rich, almost caramelly smooth chocolate. This was a Valentine Limited Edition but it was so good, Fabienne has made it a regular in the Possets line-up!
Heaven & Earth Essentials ~ Marilyn

An LE Valentine offering from
Heaven & Earth Essentials. Marilyn is truly gorgeous. She melds with my skin and makes her presence known but is not at all overwhelming. The ambers are smooth and warm, the gardenia is light and not distinct to me as a full-on floral. It does smell like gardenia though, just very soft and well-blended with the ambers. There is indeed just a drop of lavender, it’s drifting gently around the sides. The musk is also soft, but I do notice it a bit more on the drydown. Sometimes it’s a sort of incensey gardenia, but not in the way of my cherished Monyette Paris, which is gardenia with a strong crush of Nag Champa running through it. I love Marilyn.
Notes: Gardenia, White Amber, Golden Amber, Musk and a drop of Lavender
And two delicious pairings; one on each hand, not layered. I love these ones on their own, but together…extra mmMmmm!:
Droplettes Star Light, Star Bright and Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue
Star Light, Star Bright is almost edible, but there are a handful of very, very creamy chamomile and cala lily flowers thrown in which makes it rather different. There’s just a hint of coconut and angel food cupcakes and an almost

minty syrupy note to it. It’s creamy and sweet, and a wonderfully unusual and dreamy combination, and although it goes through a slightly sharp almost too syrupy sweet stage, it's only for about five minutes before it becomes warming, cozy and sweet. A great comfort scent for bedtime this one.
Notes: A bouquet of white scents. Milk, cala lily, noix de coco, chamomile flowers and white angel food cupcakes.
Now, with the fresh, sunshine and bright zestiness of
D&G Light Blue on my other hand, the scent that drifts up to my nose is a wonderful pick-me-up and soothing at the same time, as well as, ahem, if I say so myself, making me smell fantastic!
Sage Machado Onyx and Aquolina Pink Sugar
I went to bed one night with these two on and it was blissful. The rich and dark coconut pipe tobacco of
Onyx mixed with the yummy, fluffy pink puff of Pink Sugar. Sweet dreams alright!
Aquolina Pink Sugar
This is one of my favourite semi-commerical gourmand fragrances, even though I don’t wear it often. Not just straight fairy floss/cotton candy. First on, it's got a musky citrus twist mixed in with raspberry and a lovely helping of caramel and vanilla, next is a hint of licorice and fig, then a soft sandalwood at its heart - I think these last three notes save it from being too sweet on me, though some do find it too sweet. On the drydown it's mainly raspberry, musk, caramel and vanilla. Good stuff for a sweet mood.
Notes from
Sephora: Bergamot, Sicilian Orange, Raspberry, Fig Leaves, Lily of the Valley, Licorice, Strawberry, Red Fruit, Cotton Candy, Barbe-a-Papa, Vanilla, Caramel, Musk, Wood, Powder.
