So. Hi! I've been recovering from surgery for the past, um, two and a half weeks. (For the record: ouch. But my defective part is gone now, and I am supposed to be nearly as good as new, at least when the swelling goes away. In the meantime, I have drugs

Oh, yay! I'm glad that worked. (And oh, humans: we really shouldn't be all we can be. History has pretty much proven that, I think.)
At the moment, I know of seven videos, all of which are awesome
I've got ten, including six in my to-rec folder. I think that's the highest ratio of vids seen to to vids to be rec'd in any fandom that has more than two vids. Seriously, seriously awesome vids, this fandom makes. Even the ones I don't want to rec would be recommendable in any other fandom - it's just, the competition is so amazing that it's like there's a new standard for LoM vids.
I still hold out hope for you to watch Firefly just because it's so amazing and not very long (sadly) and you already have a decent grasp of characters based upon your PERFECT names.
But they all look the same. I mean, I can figure out who is who in vids by matching them with their behaviors, but I fear my ability to do this would collapse for anything the length of a whole episode.
(Although, really, Best Beloved is the one you should be talking to about seeing Firefly. She doesn't want to, and there's no chance I could navigate those wild shoals - huge cast! similar hair! OMG, casting people! - by myself.)
And the motion is definitely very, very beautiful.
here's luck uses motion in really interesting ways. There's a whole post I'm never going to write comparing and contrasting the way she uses motion with the way Laura Shapiro uses it. (Really, why is there not an Institute of Vid Studies? We need scholars writing these kinds of things, stat.)

OMG pleeease do!! Seriously, that sounds really fascinating. Even a sentence or do would be awesome. And yeah, an Institute of Vid Studies would be a dream come true for me. At the moment, Vividcon will have to do.

But they all sound very different!!!! Really! It's not as tough as you'd think to tell them apart, and you've got the basics down already.
(I still mourn Firefly)
