Do you ever have one of those Bad Fannish Idea days? Where, like, you think, "I know what'd be cool! A Fullmetal Alchemist x Supernatural crossover. Yes, I want that, despite the fact that I don't know either fandom and it would be so angst-filled that small nations would simply collapse under the weight of the despair and never really know why."

No, I don't understand it either. My brain is weird.
But the short answer is: sadly, you will not be pimping me into Fall Out Boy fandom (oh, like I didn't know exactly what you meant) unless you can first fix my brain. Which - I am totally open to brain fixing! Just, I'm not sure it's possible.

Hmmm. Definitely yes on the first one, although I'd probably do better with a story about Elijah Wood as a robot from the future than Elijah Wood as an actor, but - yeah. I'd still hit the squick. (Although I have managed to read the occasional incredible RPF-involving-celebrities story; there are ways to winnow around the edges, which I am working on, and, hey! Maybe the extreme AU thing could be one of those ways. Of course, the other problem is that just looking over recs pages for RPF tends to make me dizzy, so it's hard to get hold of the really great stories that are worth reading despite the squick. And. Huh. "Stories so great they're worth reading despite the squick" or "stories where the squick is really underplayed/really well done" - I should do a post asking for recs for that, to see if I can acquire some immunity to my biggest squicks. Except animal harm, which - there is no story worth reading despite that; I can't cope at all.)
The problem with the second one is, celebrities I've never heard of become celebrities I have heard of as soon as someone posts RPF about them, and thus the squick is triggered.
Sorry I'm totally spamming this post. I have many things to do and thus procrastination has raised its ugly head.
No apologies necessary! You're not spamming - you are adding content. And I'm here to facilitate procrastination in every way; it's my purpose on LJ.
