Have you recommended Daemonology? Or is that a crossover? Are fusions crossovers, AUs, or both?
Yup! I love that story with an unholy glee, and I would explicate at length, except for I think I got about as coherent as I can about that story in the rec. (Hence the link.) And my own reasoning is - well, I count it as a crossover, but I classify crossovers as a type of AU, so for me, if it's a crossover, it is by definition an AU. All crossovers are AUs, although not all AUs are crossovers.
Oh, god, I'm not making any sense at all. I need sleep *whimpers*
On the matter of AUs in other fandoms, have you ever recommended astolat's All The Wonder?

Speaking of incredible Master & Commander AUs written by Shalott (how was that for a lead in?), you've read Duende, right? I didn't think I could love another M&C AU as much as I love All the Wonder, but Duende is definitely competing fiercely for the honor. I would gladly see a twenty-novel series for either AU. Or, ideally, both.
Also, there need to be more due South/SGA crossovers. I can't even find the one that I read before, now, which is tragic.
I completely agree. I've read a few, but the one that springs immediately to mind is, unusually for me, actually art. The drawing with Fraser's personal item never fails to cheer me up. I look at it often.

No, no, that made sense to me.
Duende is on my list of things to read when I have time for a nice long wallow in fic. (All The Wonder is one of those things I reread during those times, along with Transcendental, Freedom's Just Another Word (have you recced that? It breaks my heart every time) and the Iowaverse.)

Haven't rec'd Freedom's Just Another Word, although I love it so very much. (It broke me. I need to be all put back together again before I can re-read it for the rec.) But someday I will, because it is an incredible story.
