I actually think this is the reason there are relatively few people reporting that they're in the earlier stages of a fandom; it takes us a while to realize we've switched providers, so to speak.

Three weeks from today, actually. Not that I'm counting down the days or anything.
I actually think this is the reason there are relatively few people reporting that they're in the earlier stages of a fandom; it takes us a while to realize we've switched providers, so to speak.
Right. And even when the balance of my writing switched from, say, HP to Firefly, I was still writing HP and reading it and commenting to people about it, so it took me a while to admit that maybe they'd switched spots in the lineup. Now I haven't written HP in a month, and haven't opened a Firefly WIP in a couple of weeks, so... who knows?
I don't know if it's the show, or if it's just that SPN has reached such a high level of pairing buy-in that even the gen doesn't feel gennish anymore, but it really doesn't.I think the show promotes such a high level of *emotional* incestuousness - they really do play it as if there is nothing that will ever be more important to Dean than Sam, and they are definitely Weird About Each Other (Dean even more ( ... )
