Slashy Nominations 136: Praised Be the Alternate Universe

Feb 05, 2006 16:17

Some of you may remember - or maybe not; a livejournal generation is only, like, eight days, so we're talking about ancient history, here - when I recommended fan fiction in this space. When I was knee-deep in vids, I swore to myself that those days would come again. It was very dramatic and meaningful, although the pervy LotR vid playing in the ( Read more... )

That Almost Makes Me Grateful to the DC Folks for Their Persistent Attempts to Reboot Their Universe Until Our Memories Are Completely Wiped of Every Reason Why We Liked Their Comics in the First Place. Almost. Although I Still Reserve the Right to Punch Willingham in the Nose If I Ever Meet Him.

Ahahahahahahahaha oh my god, never have you written truer words. SERIOUSLY.

Okay, first: That is an insanely cute icon. Little! Flying! Pigs! Oh my god, their little goggles!

*collapses with glee*

never have you written truer words. SERIOUSLY.

*weeps*

I try to tell myself that someday it'll all just be a bad memory and a t-shirt reading, "I survived DC's Infinite Reboot." So far, no luck with that, though. Maybe therapy will help.

And now I need really good Timfic. Like, stat. *browses ferociously*

copperbadge made it. It's from PhD Comic, and is truly the best user icon I have, since I had to get rid of my "Let others go to the classes of fools! I only go to classes that INTEREST me!" icon. I luuuuuuuurve it.

I actually got into an argument with a friend of mine recently, yelling, "Why are you giving in to their blatant schemes to get you to buy more comics??? Why why why?" Oh, D.C. Why do you hurt us so? On the other hand, at least it's not as bad as the X-Men timeline. Yet.

Oh, god, I hadn't looked at PhD in a year or more, but I love it just the same. (Fandom has eaten up all my online play time.) I didn't recognize the pigs at all, but I surely should've recognized the hair. PhD characters have hair as distinctive as John Sheppard's is. (OMG I just went to a very bad crossover place. Very, very bad. But, see, if Sheppard's a major, he has to have a graduate degree, and...NO NO NO WRONG.)

"Why are you giving in to their blatant schemes to get you to buy more comics??? Why why why?"

SEE? This is the reason we HAVE this crap, because people buy more comics. If people quit the second it turned crappy...well, actually, all the comic book companies would be bankrupt. So I should both thank and damn fannish loyalty, I guess.

On the other hand, at least it's not as bad as the X-Men timeline. Yet.

Oh, don't. Don't.

*shudders*

I, I read X-Men, once. And the spinoffs. And I had a boyfriend who could recite the entire history of the series, including the complete multi-universe timeline of the Summers ( ... )
