[Poll] Perceived Kinkiness

I am having a crappy day, people. I come to you for entertainment and distraction.

So, the other day - or maybe it was the other week; I'm not exactly Speedy Jenny, here - frostfire_17 said something that interested me. She said that she thinks Reboot Kirk would be kinkier than TOS Kirk ( Read more... )

I've marked, but I'm going to say that:

a) Different cultures have different ideas of kinkiness, so all of this is based on how kinky they perceive themselves to be, related to their own background. In other words, one world's vanilla is another's kink, so Teyla may be kinky by her own standards, but the things that are kinky to her wouldn't necessarily be kinky to John and co, and the things they think make her kinky, might seem vanilla to her. And not even french vanilla.

b) Jack's experienced enough that he views himself as kinky by the standards of most worlds, which means he's open-minded in his own description, but will also say that to a lot of the universe? Not even close to kinky on a universal scale. That said, he's always willing to try something new to see if he likes it, again to see if that was just fluke and third time for luck.

c) Methos is kinky when it's appropriate, when it fits who he is right then and who he's with.

*nods* This is my trouble with figuring out how to rate Spock, because I don't think Vulcan and human ideas of kinkiness overlap very much.

I was actually aiming for how kinky you perceive them to be, but I also like the idea of considering how they must see themselves.

Are you suggesting there are things he tries that he doesn't like? Because if so, I have just developed a desperate need to read a story about that: Five Sex Acts Jack Harkness Didn't Enjoy.

Thank you for this sudden and acute yearning. And I can't even write it myself, because I don't know the canon at all.

when it fits who he is right then

So very true. Although I would also maintain that he has a fundamental neckplay kink that he probably tries to hide or suppress most of the time.

Well, with other immortals maybe. I like to think maybe some of his wives teased him about still liking hickeys at his age. Oh, how little they knew...

Maybe it was just... but...

1. That 96 hours of non-stop, not-even-for-a-minute, ritually-required-on-a-first-date marathon-fucking he didn't realize he'd signed up for when he hit on the cute couple visiting Earth from Teealth. Fine, he couldn't die anymore, but apparently that in no way meant he had the recreational stamina of a Teealthian. After 50-odd hours with them he was wishing he could die. Now. Immediately. Maybe it hadn't been that great for them either; when he left their hotel room four evenings after he entered it they kissed him goodbye, but they sure weren't eagerly inviting him to stop over if ever he was near their planet ( ... )

And then there was that big guy he'd picked up in that bar.... Actually the sex had been fabulous, the guy a great fuck, soft and touchable all over, fun, good sense of humor, nice even. Just, the stray fur -- for months, no matter how many times he had it sonic-cleaned, bits of it kept clinging to his favorite coat.
