Why Aren't People Commenting on My Post/Story/Whatever?

Apr 21, 2009 21:48

Sometimes you may say to yourself: all these people have me friended. And yet I posted a story (or a link, or four extremely compelling pictures of my cat, including one where she almost had a ribbon on her head) and many of them have not commented! You may wonder why. You may even be downcast in your wonderment and confusion.

Well, wonder no longer ( Read more... )

You are added! And I would love to hear the story, but I'm guessing it's the kind of thing you'd really rather not go over again. Are hugs in order?

"Massive failboating" makes it sound like you changed your name accidentally. In which case, whoa. That WOULD be an interesting post.

How can lj not infringe upon my rights to take a poll TWICE?

You can totally take a poll twice! I know, because I have LJ notify whenever anyone takes a poll (this is useful for monitoring the earthling filter poll, which is why I do it, but OMG scary when I post a new one), and I will often get two or three notifications as people change their minds and re-take the poll. (Also, secret confession time: I often take polls several times myself. I am the Queen of Indecisiveland.) Did you try going to the poll itself and clicking on "Fill out Poll"? Because if you did, and that didn't work you are being OPPRESSED BY LJ. You should tell everyone, so we can make FISTS OF RAGE on your behalf.

If it made you smile, it was totally worth posting. (Yes, I wondered if I should bother.) Yay for there being humor in the situation!

Indeed. A post made of win that let me start today with a smile.

. . . *SMACKS LJ*

Although you forgot the ones who try to comment four times and get LJ's damned 'invalid form submission' error and finally just GIVE UP.

*jumps in to provide possible solution/reason*

I'm on Firefox and use session restore. I always get the 'invalid form submission' error when I've had the post open in a tab and either had the laptop on hibernate and/or closed Firefox and then opened it again. (I can't remember precisely which scenario...) Anyway, (I've found) the solution is to just refresh the tab. Hope this is of some help!

1% of the people who read you are aliens. They can't ever pass the prove-you're-human test, and for some reason they get the CAPTCHA every time. They are thinking of filing a lawsuit against LJ.

*delurking enough to say WIN!*

Thank you! (And I fail enough at the prove-you're-human test that I am seriously questioning my humanity these days. I can't even imagine how traumatic it would be for a real alien.)

(prove-you're-human tests are hard! I have, at times, considered just offering the computer my DNA instead of trying to figure out the damn letters)

(okay, now there needs to be fic about some fandom alien being traumatized by having to prove they are human)

I'd like to claim that was my secret plan, but in fact I am never that intricate.

And thank you!
