Meta rant
Since the Brandon and Dani storyline keeps coming up in spoilers and interviews, I want to post something that I wrote a few days ago for my lj and tumblr.
You know what's frakked up? This spoiler scoop. I don't know how much it's authorized and by whom, but I sincerely hope that "Brandon struggles to recover and come to terms with his guilt over sleeping with Dani" is not what the writers mean. Or at least I hope that it means that Brandon will feel guilty because he doesn't realize that there's nothing to feel guilty about, and then someone will explain this to him.
I am as anti-Brandon as it gets, and he has a crapton of things to feel guilty about. (Most of them involve treating Callie's happiness as irrelevant and/or less important than his possessive crush over and over and over again, and daring to call it LOVE. And let's not forget bribing a vulnerable drug-addicted woman of color.) BUT GETTING RAPED IS THE ONE THING HE SHOULDN'T FEEL GUILTY ABOUT. And that's exactly what happened when he "slept with Dani". She's an adult who took advantage of a drunk teenager. I don't give a single fuck what their genders are. If someone doesn't see anything wrong about this situation just because the genders are ~reversed compared to what you'd ~expect... I don't even know.
