What happened, boss? Suddenly it was like someone turned all the lights on!
[There's no response for the Darklings, other than the splashing of water. One of them helpfully turns the feed to video so you can see what's going on.
Jackie looks like hell, and from his expression it seems as though he feels like it too. His head is resting on the kitchen counter, with the sink still dripping water. After a long moment he turns his head and then lifts it from the counter, takes the communicator in his hand.]
The bodies are gone from the lobby. People are coming back.
That means the Scientists must be back, too.
[Glassy-eyed, Jackie stares at the communicator, trying to decide if there's anything else he should be saying. He should be getting the Watch reassembled, making water for the apartment tenants again, checking up on damage....but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. He kept watch with no powers for days during the invasion, and by the end he was spending his breaks keeping alert as well. The only thing he has the energy to care about right now is: ]
