why did I make the choices that I made

My sleep schedule is all messed up aargh staying up all night to write that story a week ago was a terrible idea!

My sister is home from her six week dance camp in New York. On Monday she starts her two week dance camp locally. My sister is a little insane. I'm spending my summer creating a website (yay!) and taking care of my neighbor's pets (yay!), although those same pets have taken to wandering over to my house even when I'm not supposed to have responsibility for them and am trying to sleep (...), and I am trying my best to write more often, with mixed results.

Also I watched the first episode of Sherlock, called A Study in Pink. I have to say I was really impressed. Obviously it isn't the Sherlock Holmes we all know and love, but it's a really original take. It isn't trying to put a nineteenth century man into a twenty-first century context, like so many awful adaptations do. Instead it creates the characters as though they are from this era, which I thought was very well done. It's probably not for everybody, and I had a few complaints about their interpretations myself (not to mention a pretty big editing mistake, argh), but it's pretty clear that the show was born of a genuine love of the series.

They did roll out the whole Moriarty thing, which is a little annoying, but I do acknowledge that it is a bit necessary in this context.  Also I have high hopes, based on the way he was presented.  Not so sure how I feel about Mycroft though.  (Although I was quite pleased with how snarky his revelation was).

Now to write a rondel, which I am bad at!  I've only worked out one of the repeating phrases so far, and none of the other lines.  Methinks this may be yet another unfinished project
