My Rave Review : this is a comic that you click through, and it doesn't seem like 168 pages (unless you have a trackpad that doesn't respond), and it's gorgeously done in watercolor with a wonderful sense of negative space. and it's got a fabulous, fabulous story. i was asked a long time ago why people liked harry potter so much (and me and my friend couldn't give a definitive answer) but what i had been trying to convey, what i liked best, was the sense of history that follows harry and how it all led down to a point, not just james and lily and dumbledore, but the black family as well, and this gives a whole new facet of narcissa that i had never considered before.

for me, the part that really connected was the idea that women give, constantly, silently, wholly, to the point of destroying themselves in the process, that they're the caretakers of their families, and narcissa was so close to reaching her career goal but then she realized there was no point in a career, not with everything that had happened to her family. and as you go through the chapters, which follow canon, you realize, no, narcissa couldn't have done anything else, everything that had happened was going to lead to only one outcome, and that was her marriage to lucius. she didn't want to, but she knew she had to, and that was that.

! not sure if this should have gone other illustrated, fanart, comic, or what.
