breaks, malls and the fast road to early orphanhood

Celebrated the closing of the Piedmont PArk Spring Day Camp with burritos and pitchers of beer with my coworkers. After a week of little sleep, giant burritos from the taco joint connected to the Park Conservancy offices and busy-ass children----my body is officially done.

Next week is our spring break (we're a week after the kids in the APS) but due to my need for at least 200 extra service hours, I'll be working. This isn't such a bad thing since I get the luxury of staying in bed an extra hour. Which, is nice since there's a VHS or Beta show happening Monday night that I may hit up.

Just came back from the nearby mall because i needed MAC makeup and my mom needed a blouse for church. She didn't find the blouse, but I ended up walking out with a full bag of books from Walden thanks to an independent black publisher standing outside hawking indie black science fiction (only one title out of four, but hey not bad). Will give it a read for quality control before i put up the title and author. Went inside to pay and ended up walking out with a beautiful pop-up book from Stephen King and a $8 reference book on weapons (!!yay!!).

Living at home. Doing well so far but JESUS they are annoying. They run the faucet for five minutes to 'clean' the water before pouring a glass and when i protested they told me to shut up. Cuz apparently i just like to stir up trouble. :P Same went for when i suggested that my mom (who is on high blood pressure meds) shouldn't eat fried chicken four times a week...

[but who am i to talk about health and safety?]

Also, for those who haven't checked out Black Book with Dylan Moran. You should.
Here's Season 1's Episode 3. The Grapes of Wrath
