And the clocks keep ticking

I have two clocks in my room: a simple wall clock, and then my digital desk clock I got as a freebie from our TIME magazine subscription way back in the early 2000s. I love the TIME clock (LOL) since it has elegant wood sides and is still going strong after such a long time.

(I don't consider the PC/laptop clocks and my watches as real clocks.)

I only use the desk clock for alarm and world time purposes, and the wall clock for those countless glances when you do really want to know the time (with my eyesight failing me, I usually cannot read my desk clock's digital read out). Anyway, some idiot prolly jumped up and down inside my room and shook its wooden walls and floor and the wall clock came crashing off the wall. I found the broken clock behind the stereo on New Year's Day.

So right now, I keep on unconsciously glancing at the spot where the clock used to be, only to be welcomed by a blank space on the wall. I know it's kind of difficult to expect the clock to re-appear since it got broken, but my ingrained habit of checking the time every now and then has been quite difficult to shake off.

Which is the same case for people. You keep on expecting them to change or be someone else, someone you want them to be. And then they disappoint. They always do.

But you keep on doing a double-take.

In the meantime I'm gonna find a clockmaker. Or get a new one outright. Change is good, right?

life, me, clocks
