dreams

I keep having these weird dreams about Eckerd. Well, okay, I've only had two. That I remember. But still, weird.

The first was a week or so ago, I think. We were all back at Eckerd, but it was like Hogwarts. I was trying to get to class, but the sidewalks kept moving around on me like the Hogwarts stairwells would. I'd try to get to Seibert, but end up at Sheen. Trace my steps back, but find myself at the bookstore. Not to mention all the spire-like gateways. And I kept running into everyone I knew. I didn't want to admit that I was completely lost, because, I mean, that's ridiculous. I know my way around Eckerd. But I was late. I think Katy tried to help me find my way, and I did end up at Seibert eventually but that wasn't where I was trying to go anymore.

The second I had last night. Eckerd had recalled us. Me and Robbie were moving our stuff back into our room, but this time our room was the attic of my old house which, dimension-wise, was about the same width of our old dorm room but 3x as deep. Rose and Sarah had tried to move back into their old room too, but my 17-year-old sister had already claimed it. Between moving and trying to figure out why the recall was necessary, I'd only managed to fire off one quick phone call to my sister, demanding that she give Rose and Sarah their room back. Of course, she'd said no. But I promised Rose, so I told my sister I'd beat her up if she didn't give it back. And naturally, she thought I was kidding but I totally wasn't, I just wanted to finish moving all my crap back in first.

And Rose kept freaking out because she didn't have her couch anymore, and I didn't have my extra-long twin sheets or mattress pad anymore either. Then Jill and Becky popped over, asking if anyone knew why we'd been recalled. No one knew. We went outside to get some air, and there was this giant green-plywood maze set up outside Gamma. Or, maybe, it was growing out of Gamma's cinder blocks. I started talking trash because, really, none of this was making any sense. But Jill pointed out that the maze was actually the new cafeteria. "Oh," I said. I looked over and saw the new class sitting underneath a patio like the one on South Beach. They were eating out of plastic lunchboxes. "But they're so young," I said.
