Artemis Head Canons
You can tell who is your favourite character when you start making very complicated head canons about them. In this case, Artemis. I seriously did not think I would end up loving her as much as I do now. That was a bad idea because the more I fell in love with her, the more the head canon grew and grew. I'm hoping by season two this will subside because really I haven't loved a character this much since Katara. I love that she's flawed but always trying. I love that she has soft spots but is scared to reveal them. I am going to sound like a crazed fangirl at any second.
In my head, her nickname is Alice, of which only Jade and Cam called her as kids. Jade still uses it and Cam uses it whenever he slips up because they used to date before he moved. Cam and Artemis had a really good relationship but circumstances didn't allow for it to continue.
As kids, when their father was thankfully away, Jade and Artemis used to act out tea parties. When they got older, this turned to special occasion trips to a cafe where they could pretend to be grown-ups (the cafe got used to them and gave them 2 for 1 discounts on desserts). This turned Artemis into a bit of a tea snob. Her favourite teas are black and flavoured with flowers like Baroness Grey and Buckingham Palace Garden Party. Do not mess up her tea. Jade knowing her best used to fix a cup after training sessions and to Artemis' knowledge, no one makes a better one. Jade prefers white teas plain but perfectly steeped. Artemis got good at making sushi as that was Jade's favourite.
Lawrence Crock switches from abusive to loving father, giving affection if it helps accomplish his goals. As a child, Artemis looked up to him but as she grew older, she realized he wasn't as loving as he seemed. His idea of training her to dodge attacks was to use a baseball pitching machine at top speed. If she didn't dodge, it would really hurt. He rarely if ever praised her, like everything wasn't good enough. He used to pit Jade and Artemis against each other to encourage competition and a ruthless nature. It partially worked. Both could be ruthless, but outside of the ring, they would never turn on each other. Jade has kept monthly tabs on Artemis till their mother came back.
As for future head canon, Artemis takes up her mother's old moniker as Huntress. M'gann and Conner gave her two of Wolf's puppies with a regular dog. Her nicknames for the two puppies (though they grew to be almost as big as Wolf in about a year) are Tweedledee and Tweedledum. The one argument she's never let go with Jade was whether, if they ever got pets, they should get a cat or a dog. Jade liked cats and found dogs dumb. Artemis loved dogs but found cats creepy (Klarion's Teekl did not help matters). She still prefers compound bows and her outfit still is midriff, however she's taken to packing her crossbow with her and one of her sister's sais. One birthday, she finds a box in her apartment. The card is addressed to her and in her sister's writing. In the box is Sportsmaster mask and all his ID cards. Jade had wrote "Happy birthday Alice. Lawrence won't bother you anymore. He had an unfortunate meeting with the Queen of Hearts."
Jade can be a very overprotective sister. Most of the time she doesn't interfere having knowledge of Artemis' capabilities but it's something to keep in mind that even badass agents of the League of Shadows have little sisters.
