Let's remind ourselves that when we write in the bandom, we've got to keep the characters realistic. Don't give them girly characteristics if they're not acting like girls. Just because the pairing may be gay doesn't mean they act like a 14 year old girl.
Stay away from certain sayings like "his beautifully toned body" and use things like "muscles" instead. Be descriptive but not overly so. Use personality traits but not that of a pre teen chick. I know it's hard but with a little work and re-thinking we can get there.
