It’s an incredible con job when you think about it, to believe something now in exchange for something after death. Even corporations with their reward systems don’t try to make it posthumous.

i spent way too long trying to convince myself i believed in god and it was all for a sense of community and love that i was missing. i wish i could just let the people that i am close to who have these underlying bonds and beliefs in god that i'm not wasting my time and energy defending something i half hearted believe in any longer.
