If there's one thing that I don't like about long vacations, it's how distant I am the entire time with my friends.
I don't want to say that I feel left out, but in a way I guess it's true.
I was going to use this week and potentially spend time with Jessi and Jon and people at the beginning, but life mixes things up on you. But I am still really excited!
We spent all of the day today walking around Chicago. There's this gigantic metal kidney bean in Millenium Park. It's pretty sweet. Then we ate at some soup place, and then a Jimmy John's sandwich place, which rules by the way. We took the L (Chicago's equivalent to the T) and went down to Wrigley Field and watched the Cubs spank the Padres 12-4. It was the first time that I've ever see the Cubs win in person! Tomorrow we're going down to Evanston so that I can visit my Elementary school for the first time in 15-16 years, and I'm pretty excited about that. Then on Wednesday we're going back to Crystal Lake and we're going to see my old Middle School and house and I think that my parents will really be suprised at how commercialized the town centre is.
Then from there we're going to Minnesota, and I am not entirely sure how this is all going to work, but I will visit Macalester, Carleton, and Taylor sometime in the 2 days I am there.
Then we fly out of St. Paul Saturday morning and are back home before late afternoon.
I would really like to hang out with people on that weekend, I am rather deprived of human contact right now, ironically enough in the middle of one of the biggest cities in America.
