Cookies I've made today & yesterday
Butter Balls - From my great-grandmother's recipes; a standard powdered-sugar dusted ball flavored with honey and almonds; I squished maraschino cherries on half of them and put pink powdered sugar icing on the other half;
Chocolate Kahlua Truffles - From Cookie Bar, a frou frou chocolate recipe book by NYC peoples; these are really really good--the recipe calls for Grand Marnier but I only have Kahlua (I don't think it matters too much anyway); the inside is soft, surrounded by hardened chocolate and dusted with cocoa powder;
Tempting Drop Sugar Cookies - Again from my great-grandmother's recipes, apparently her favorite; a standard sugar cookie, no frills;
Chocolate Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies- From Cookie Bar; I haven't had this cookie in toto but it seems the cookie part itself is thin, not that sweet, and crumbly, and the filling is an ok peanut butter frosting;
Cream Cheese Mint Candies - From the Better Homes & Gardens Anniversary Cookbook; kind of weird and tangy, I haven't had the candy but sneaked a taste while I was putting it together; I dyed them green, you know, cuz they're minty
Time to clean the house, my family is coming this year...
