Various Foods

Now that I have made some dinner (Rice a Roni--Chicken and Mushroom--surprisingly moist and flavorful), I feel prepared to relate my two food-centered activities of the past week or so.

A week ago Thursday, Justin and I were just chatting and watching t.v. (specifically waiting for Stephen Colbert to talk about bears. He did), and we were lamenting the fact that we had absolutely no sweets, sugary foods, or desserts AT ALL in our house. When I say "absolutely", think about absolute zero. We just kept talking about candy and desserts we wanted to eat, and everything just seemed so fantastical and amazing, that when Justin said, "Maybe we should go buy these things right now," the idea seemed so amazing and revolutionary that we had to act.

At QFC we bought:
-A Boston Creme Pie (a guy also looking at cakes told us to get it, so we did)
-Box of doughnuts
-Sour Patch Kids
-Swedish Fish
-Peanut Butter Oreos
-Strawberry Popsicles
-Mint Chocolate Chip Iced Cream

We were SO HAPPY about all the candy we bought, we decided to take beautiful pictures of it (behind the cut--it is so worth it to look at them, though)

We tried to make this picture beautiful:

Here is us just geeking out:

The weekend after the candy we had our first BBQ in our big, beautiful backyard. My friend Chris had a brand-new grill and grilling utensils which we brought over, and we just bought insane amounts of delicious food. Justin made some mean burgers, and we had hot dogs, skewers with prawns and vegetables, BBQ chicken, corn, and beers. Also potato salad, regular salad, brownies, sodas and etc. Also, Justin made this exquisite dessert of grilled pears, all caramelized and so tasty. It was just really nice to have some good people over in our backyard and to be out on the patio doing some serious grilling. Mandi has a lot of pictures from the day on Flickr if you're curious.

Thanks to everyone involved in my food activities. I hope to have more food activities in the future.
