I had such a wonderful day yesterday. But mostly a wonderful food day, which I felt deserved to be recorded for all times.
First of all, yesterday was beautiful weather-wise. It was close to 70 and sunny and NOT rainy or 45. I had to go to work, which normally would be a disadvantage, but my superiors needed a package delivered to the U-District first thing in the morning. That type of thing normally really pisses me off, despite the fact that it's in my job description to courier stuff from downtown to the U-District sometimes. But it was Friday and glorious, so I decided to take my time and walk around up there. ANYWAYS, once up on campus I walked up University Ave, which, for those not living in Seattle, is referred to as "The Ave". I sought a breakfast sandwich, which I succeeded in finding at a little cafe on the Ave called "Cafe on the Ave." Foods got: egg, cheese, and ham on a croissant + a strawberry smoothie, a real quality one. After taking my time and finally returning to work downtown I slacked for an hour and then went outside for break, then slacked for another two hours and went outside for lunch. Foods got at lunch: A BEAUTIFUL falafel sandwich + hot tea. At lunch I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and read the New Yorker and listened to Islands whose CD I had purchased earlier that day and really really liked. Thank you AP for your suggestion!
The rest of the day was equally productive. After work I decided to get dinner with my co-worker. Really, I only knew that I wanted something delicious. Ideally I wanted a delicious pasta dish with crawfish and delicious beer, but I think I'm going to have to build my own restaurant before I find a menu that includes that dish. So we were driving around and I was looking through a guidebook getting frustrated that I couldn't find a great-looking seafood place, when I looked up from the book and saw a great-looking seafood place in front of me. So we went there. At dinner I got a fancy salad, linguine and prawns in white wine sauce with truffle oil, and a Stella. For dessert we went to 7-11 and I got a coke slurpee, which I had been craving for days.
Once I got home, I was surprised with a beautifully prepared banana pudding. It consisted of pudding with real bananas, whipped cream, sprinkles, and Nilla wafers. Yesterday was just extremely good. I hope everyone else is having extremely good days, too.
