I don't know how much more official it can get. Google WiFi is most likely coming soon to the San Francisco Bay area. Probably very soon, knowing the speed at which Google works.

There is also a Secure Google WiFi FAQ on the main google site which has to do with the brand new secure WiFi application. Within the FAQ, it is stated that the app can be downloaded at any "Google Wifi" location.
RUMORS: Microsoft has been looking at putting a bid up for AOL, BUT today it was said that Google might try to buy out AOL before MS even makes a bid.
VERY FAR REACHING RUMORS: Google doesn't care about AOL and will let MS have it, and has been secretely looking at buying out Yahoo instead. Goohoo?!? Probably not likely.
