A book meme I found. Haa.

- Take five books off your bookshelf.
- Write the first sentence
- Write the last sentence on page fifty
- Write the second sentence on page one hundred
- Write the next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
- Write the final sentence of the book (no, because it ruins it if you haven't read the book before! Plus three of these are books I haven't read/haven't finished reading)
- Let your friends guess what book it is.

Book One:
First Sentence: Polly cut off her hair in front of the mirror, feeling slightly guilty about not feeling very guilty about doing so.
Last Sentence, page 50: Someone said, "Psssst!"
Second Sentence, page 100: The squad brightened up.
Next to Last Sentence, page 150: A large flag hung from a pole attached to it, but Polly couldn't make out the design by moonlight.

Book Two:
First Sentence: Captain Henry Willsen of His Majesty's Dirty Half Hundred, more formerly the 50th regiment of West Kent, parried his opponent's sabre.
Last Sentence, page 50: And Sharpe, trapped, could not move.
Second Sentence, page 100: But Lavisser, he warned himself, could have reached the city before him.
Next to Last Sentence, page 150: "It can't be done. Can't be done."

Book Three:
First Sentence: When the year one thousand came, Thorkel Amundason was five years old, and hardly noticed how frightened everyone was.
Last Sentence, page 50: An amendment, squeakily, was being written.
Second Sentence, page 100: In Thorkel's ear, Sulien of Llanbadarn said, "Why so shocked? Because the bride has made an early appearance, or because the Mormaer of Moray is called Macbeth MacFindlaech?"
Next to Last Sentence, page 150: "To some god we should give praise," said Earl Thorfinn.

Book Four:
First Sentence: The village of Moonfleet lies half a mile from the sea on the right or west bank of the Fleet.
Last Sentence, page 50: By and by fumes of brandy began to fill the air, and climb to where I lay, overcoming the mouldy smell of decayed wood and the dampness of green walls.
Second Sentence, page 100: We were not alone, for I could make out a score of men, some standing in groups, some resting on the ground, and the dark shapes of the pack-horses showing larger in the dimness.
Next to Last Sentence, page 150: But if the second number did not stand for the verse, what else did it mean?

Book Five:
First Sentence: It all happened suddenly.
Last Sentence, page 50: When they reached home, they turned out Punch and Bramble into the field between their garden and the sea.
Second Sentence, page 100: "But we live here now. This is where we live," said Jinny.
Next to Last Sentence, page 150: "I love you all so much." (there were only 131 pages in this book!)

Hahaha, yehh ... I should have chosen better books. Many of those sentences were dead giveaways.
